dvd-rw recording question

    Hi all,

    This may be a stupid question but:
    If I record a film on to the dvd using the timer I usually let it run on for 10 or so minutes. Can I then start the next recording at the end of the film ( ie like rewinding a vhs a bit) or is it not as simplie as that? I am using a pioneer 320 and recording in video mode not VR mode.

    It's not as simple as that if you use DVD Video mode! Programmes you record can't be editted in anyway (including starting a new recording at a given point). You'll need to use VR mode for that kind of functionality (which will allow you to chop the start and end - as well as anything in the middle - out).

    Thanks for that.

    If I use VR mode Then i presume that the disc will not play on my other players inc my portable. Is that correct

    You're right . Only very few DVD players/recorders accept VR. However I can't name them.
