DVD-R's on normal DVD players?

    OK, this is a dumb question to some of you, but if I use a DVD recorder, can the discs I record be played back on a normal DVD player?
    So if I say, record a movie from Sky, will my daughter be able to play the disc on her bog standard Ronin DVD player? :)

    More than likely.

    So far I have played DVD-Rs on a 5 year old Pioneer, Toshiba, 100E, 110E, xbox and a Sony DAVS 300 with no problems at all.

    To make sure the player will play recorded DVD's then have a look Here and search for your model. It will list what it is likely to be able to play although there are no guarentees as a lot of other things can stop a disk from playing.
