Wonder if anyone can help with a problem i'm having with my dvd-rom drive. windows recognises it is there, the light flashes on the front but I can't get the drawer to open either by pressing the eject button or by using the eject function in windows. I have tried flashing the firmware but it is still the same.
Is it time for me to buy a new drive?

The model number is a JLMS LTD-165H.

Have you stuck a paperclip in the emergency eject hole? It pushes a manual lever that pops the tray out a little.

Give it a go and see how you get on.

Probably. Definitely if it doesn't work after a "manual" open.

DVD drives are pennies now so shouldn't be too painful.

Yeah, tried the manual opening and even though it opens, theres no power there at all, time for a new drive methinks.
Thanks for your help guys, anyone know a decent online supplier?
