DVD-ROM digital out

    On the back of a DVD-ROM drive, there's a 2-pin socket for digital out. In order to play DD/DTS through a soundcard, must a cable be connected to this socket and to your sound card?

    If so, where the hell can I get one of these cables?

    The DD/DTS signal goes through the ide cable, so you don't need the other cable. :)

    is that the same for digital extraction from a CD-ROM drive?
