On the back of a DVD-ROM drive, there's a 2-pin socket for digital out. In order to play DD/DTS through a soundcard, must a cable be connected to this socket and to your sound card?

If so, where the hell can I get one of these cables?

The DD/DTS signal goes through the ide cable, so you don't need the other cable. :)
