I have a terrible tendency to get **** drunk at the weekend and scratch my beloved dvds:devil: I would like to back some of them up and was wondering what would be the best machine for the job on a limited budget.

Would also like to know if the quality of backed up dvds are as good as the originals. :smashin:

A PC and DVD/CD Burner is the best way. 'Ripping' commercial DVDs is a prohibited topic on these boards though so you would need to look somewhere such as:

Depends on what quality you use. If ripping to CDR using DivX your going to get a significant quality drop (but will fit onto a 700MB CD), if ripping to a DVD-R (depending on the disk) you may not lose any quality.

Remember it's only legal to backup your own homemade DVDs of content you own the copyright to. :lesson:
