    Hi there,

I'm thinking of purchasing a DVD Recorder, either the Philips DVD+RW DVDR1000 or the DVD-RW Panasonic DVRE20. The primary purpose would be to transfer my VHS recordings to DVD. Which do you think is best?

I've read reviews for the Philips DVDR1000 which seem *ok* but have seen none for the Panasonic. Does any1 have one - are the disks compatible with normal DVD players and much is the media?

On another point I am also keen to know whether I will be able to record my homemade DVDs on to another recorder from either of the systems. I know copy protection exists to stop this but is that a pre-recorded disk thing or set into a player?

Any advise/information would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers
