I'm in the market for a DVD recorder to replace my ageing VCR.
Also, I have loads of AVI and MPG movies from cameras, etc on my PC that I would like to easily burn and watch. Are there any players that will view AVIs and MPGs without lengthy conversion? or can these be quickly converted to DIVX and played in a player that supports DIVX?
    Looking for something under £150.
Sorry if this is a real noob question. Any advice would be appreciated.

Kind of but not quite. Main purpose of the recorder will still be to record and playback programs and films from Sky. Want decent picture quality too and i've heard bad things about these Kiss players.
    Any others?
What are the best DivX DVD recorders?
