    I have just purchased a Panasonic TH-42PE30.
I want to get a DVD recorder to make back ups from my Sky+ box,
What is the current best purchase for my needs?
I did consider a HD DVD recorder, but I plan to upgrade the Sky+ box to a bigger
HD so I'm now just looking for a DVD recorder.
Any suggestions and help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Kieran

You may also want to get a HDdvd recorder even though you have SKY+. I have the DMRE55 and SKY+ which works well with the viera. However, an HDD recorder would allow you to edit a recording and then put it onto a DVDR rather than say DVD ram. If you are going to play discs on other machines other than the dvd recorder you purchase ie in another room or if you are going to give them to other people to play, it would be usefull to be able to edit the recording before putting onto a DVDR.

I think this is right but am prepared to be corrected.
