Hi there, new to the forum and greetings to all you chaps & chapess's.

I'm hunting for a DVD recording machine WITH Freeview AND a hard disk, but I draw a blank every time.
The SONY RDRGXD500S is lovely looking thing, but no HD.
    Same with the Panasonic's (DMRES20D).

Are there some devices in the pipeline?
Or do I have to buy a HD unit (like Humax PVR-8000T) and then record to another DVD recorder unit?

My situation is that I want a Freeview system where I can record to HD and select programs that I can export to DVD for playback on my PC at work (or store).
I also want to be able to go on holiday and be able to record more than 6-8 hours (the maximum for DVD-RW on extended play???) so a hard drive seems necessary.

I'm extremely new to the Freeview/DVD recorders so any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

I suggest you look at the Panasonic DMR-EH60D but it's expensive (£450+).

Thanks for that, completely overlooked it.

Perhaps I should sit and wait (£450????)

Interesting....Superfi don't tend to add stock unless available. The 910 still shows as coming soon.

I really like the look of the Sony.

I also know (via forums) 2 people who have bought HXD710s from Sony Centres, but at £500!

Some of the big companies seem to have the poorest websites: weeks/months out of date, bad design, lack of W3C conformity, etc. Not good enough, is it?
