i currently use my ps3 for dvd and blu ray hooked upto a sony str820 amp and jamo a102 speakers, but i dont like the wife and kids messing with my ps3 , so iam after a good sounding and upscaling dvd player for upto £200.
or maybe a bluray player that upscales better than ps3.
suggestions would be appreciated

For upscaling dvd's on a blu ray player then the Panasonic BD35 is worth a look available for around £200. Sony 350 is cheaper but doesn't seem as good at upscaling dvd as the Panasonic. The is also a Samsung with the Reon chip but I can't remember the model.
If you want to stick to dvd then consider the Philips 5990, Sony 708 or Toshiba XDE500 all less than £100.

I strongly recommend anything by Philips and Samsung. Both are really versatile, stylish and slim and easy to use/reliable.

We rarely get customers complaining about these said brands and often they come back to tell us "how much they love their samsung"!
