My Panasonic HS2 keeps giving me a error code (U11) when I play a DvD-Ram . The code means Dirty or Scratched Disc. I've even put in a brand new Ram disc and get the same error code. Plays Dvd Video and DvD-R no trouble

According to the manual I'm supposed to clean the lens with a DVD-RAM/PD Lens Cleaner (LF-K123LCA1) EVERY 1 TO 4 MONTHS.

Has any else had this problem or managed to buy this Disc as I yet haven't found any online retailer that has this DVD.

    Cheers

I've been using DVD-RAM devices for over three years now and never needed to use a lens cleaner. Are you sure the disks are properly formatted? With the DVD drive selected and DVD-RAM inserted goto Functions/Disk Information and select Format. Should take about 1min. By default new disks do not come formatted (although most Panasonic disks do).

The DvD-RAMs work perfectly in my computer but not in my Standalone Panasonic HS2 recorder .
It's baffled me cause it plays everything else perfectly.
Thank you for the suggestion I'll give it a go .

I have also failed to find this product and even a Panasonic dealer I contacted was unable to order it from Panasonic direct.

Has anybody got any suggestions as to how to clean the lens on my HS2?

    cheers

Won't an ordinary dvd lens cleaner do the job?

Try one of the Panasonic stores - some, if not all, of them offer a reasonable level of support/knowledge on their products.

Ordinary cd lens cleaner worked fine in mine, just insert and listen to the instructions on audio track 1, select track 3 and the brushes clean the lens as the head track to track 3, and job is done.
