I tried Dark Side Of The Moon last night and my 3800 reported 48khz . I thought that SACD was 96khz......am i doing something wrong??

Umm SACD has a sample rate of 2.8MHz You would only see "48KHz" if it was converted to conventional PCM, defeating the idea of SACD. Or maybe you're just seeing the CD layer.

Your DVDR80 will only be capable of reading the cd layer on the SACD and outputting to your receiver as a 48KHz PCM signal. If you want to take full advantage of the high resolution audio sources on the market then I'd suggest you buy a dedicated player for them, something like the Denon DVD2900 or the Arcam DVD89 (which only does DVD-A)
