Hi I have just purchased some Philips DVD -R 16x. Tried burning a movie onto one of these using my NEC ND2500 but it have it. I know my previous disks worked they were Verbatim -R 4x.

I am guessing that my problem is the media and in particular the fact that my new disks write to a max of 16x. My question is that if the max write speed that these disks allow is 16x and my recorder only support up to 4x or possibly 8x will these discs not work?

    Tks
    Simon

    It's a total mine-field mate.
What works on one setup will not work on another.
I have a Philips DL writer that won't write to anything other than Philips.
Or Verbatim, which coincidentally  , just happen to be the best and most expensive.

I'd take look at this site, it gives very good guides for what works and what doesn't, for most players/writers:

    PS
I think my previous burner was the same as yours.
I can recommend Bulk-paq orange, if that's any help.
