I have some footage on DVD-r that I wish to transfer onto tape on my Digital Video Camera (JVC GR-DX67).

If I have my DVD recorder connected to my DV camera via firewire is it as simple as pressing play on my DVD recorder and record on my DV camera?

As I understand it, the firewire port on DVD recorders only works as an input; ie for recording from DV camcorders. :(

The best you can probably do is use an S-Video + audio connection between the two.

There will no doubt be a PC solution to this one but may involve some time as well as cost in finding the right software. Might be worth asking for advice on the Camcorders & Video Editing forum.

    Firewire is two way

Basically rip the DVD to the PC and pull it into an editing package then save to the DV camera.
