    Hey all,

    I own the sony dav-s550 and am in the market for a dvd recorder. I am wondering whether the sony model will play dvds recorded using the dvd recorder?

    You should be ok. Most modern players play DVD +/- R's & RW's. If in doubt, check out www.dvdrhelp.com they list players and what they can/cant play omongst other things ;)

    Cheers fella that's a great help :)

    It would seem the sony is quite happy playing DVD-R/W+

    I have never quite worked out the difference between - and +???????
