DVD +R -R, what's the difference

Hi Guys

As the title, is there any significant difference and why are there 2 types anyway.

My drive can handle both, but which should i get for general film/data burning

Cheers

When re-writeable CDs and DVDs came the -R was the standard they adopted.

+Rs came after.

Although most DVD players can use +Rs, some older players and players made now by some firms you can't use +R.

Best thing to do is to use -Rs (as you can use these in 99% of DVD players).

I agree use -Rs. In general if the DVD Player plays +Rs it also plays -Rs, but as said before you get some, like mine, which only like -Rs.
