    Evening all,

This is a question for all you Panasonic E55 owners...

From past experience what are the best DVD-R discs to get for this machine?

I was going to go ahead and buy some discs based on the Fujifilm03 or RITEKG..05 dye but I don't want to get them and find they skip, don't finalise properly or give me more failures than successes. Any opinions?

    Thanks in advance,

    Alex

Avoid 8x media as that is where you will run into problems. In addition I would recommend sticking to branded media. The Panasonic E-Shop has Panasonic brand DVD-Rs at under £1 each - unsuprisingly these are great discs for the E55. Also good are TDK Scratchproof DVD-Rs - available here. And Maxell DVD-Rs - here - are also good. To be honest any decent branded DVD-R (Verbatim, Maxell, Pioneer, HP, Sony, Panasonic, TDK) should be fine.

When you say don't use 8x media are you saying that we should use SLOWER media or Faster media?

I'll be taking delivery of my E65 anytime soon so obviously would like to know ;)

Avoid Datawrite Yellow (v2) 4x. Many are 8x rejects (in my case 100 out of 125!!).

The record quality is very poor; Parity Inner Errors and Jitter are very high.

The recordings will probably be watchable for a month or two.

The POF (Parity Outer Fail) value (indication of unrecoverable errors) exceeds zero and the disc will not play:
