According to the user's manual of my Panasonic DMR-ES10, I can use the following blank DVD:
    DVD-R version 2.0 / 4X / Revision 1.0
    DVD-R version 2.X / 8X / Revision 3.0

    DVD+R version 1.0
    DVD+R version 1.1
    DVD+R version 1.2

When I went to a shop to buy new blank DVD, I could only find DVD+R version 1.3. Can I use this type?

I also found most blank DVD-R and +R are 16x speed nowadays. Can I use these newer blank DVD?

What is the difference of the versions and revisions of +R and -R? Thanks.

I never use DVD+R on my Panasonics. Some of the unknown branded or even branded 16x discs will NOT be recognised on the earlier machines without a firmware update which can only be done by accredited Panasonic agents (and its chargeable).

However Panasonic state that their own branded 1~16x DVD-R discs will record on all their machines and having now used around 800 - 900 of these discs without a single failure I guess they are correct.

The tubs of 100 are currently OOS but they have some 10 Pks (individ jewel cased) which are more expensive to buy.
