Hi all,

I am using DVD Profiler Version 2.0

Whenever I open it up it always automatically dials up the internet on my modem - this is annoying as I don't always want to go online with it! Does everyone else's do this or is it just me? Does anyone know how to turn the dial-up off?
Also, whenever I add a new DVD (not very often lately!) it always tries to download the database (about 2.5mb) everytime which is also very annoying - does anyone know how to stop it from doing that? (other than keep pressing Cancel).

Cheers then!

Lex.

Hi Lex.
To turn off the automatic dialling go to the Menu Toolbar and select Tools - Options - Online. There you will see the option for I will establish the Internet connection, click on it to stop the automatic dialling.

To enter a new DVD, the database has to have the information available for that DVD, so it tries to receive it from their website. When your offline, the database only holds information relevant to the DVDs' you already have in your collection, otherwise the database file would be very large indeed if it held every DVD's details that were available in the world.

Hope this sorts your problem out.:)

Make sure you back up your database file Lex. I didn't bother because I thought I could just download it from the Web if anything went wrong. They then went and disabled that feature and now I have to find some time to re-enter all my DVDs again :(

if you update the database info regularly it doesn't take as long, I did it yesterday and it only took 30secs-1 min max on a 56kbs modem.
It took bloody ages to upgrade to Vers.2 recently tho.

I just tried to do this but it says "List Index out of bounds (-1)"

What the hell does that mean?

Thanx for your replies guys! :)

There are 3 references to this problem at the Intervocative Forum here. Do a search for List Index out of bounds and you will see them. It may cure your problem.

Thanx Thor,

I didn't realise there was a DVD-Profiler Forum!
:)

You can download a collection in one, go to Online - Refresh all Images, and it'll reload the lot. As for the info on each disc, that can also be downloaded in one too.

Did it a week or so ago.
