DVD Profiler -- CD equivalent ???

    The subject says it all really....

    Anyone know of an equivalent to DVD Profiler for cataloguing CD collections ? E.g. something that the internet to retrieve media information to save my fingers some typing.

    would be very handy indeed... I have something like 200 CDs (found 50 I had forgot about in a box the other day:rolleyes: ) and my gf has something like 480 so it would be nice to have a list in case of emergencies. although I certainly wouldn't combine the two collections with her taste in music!:D

    You're not alone there.

    No, I've just started cataloguing my 400-odd CDs in case they should ever get nicked/house burns down etc etc

    DVD Profiler's so neat that I was praying for a CD version. Doesn't look like there is....

    just done a search on google uk for "cd catalogue software" there seems to be a few out there, maybe not as comprehensive as dvdprofiler but a start.

    I use CD Trustee from http://www.base40.com/ which I find to be fairly reasonable. I haven't finished pumping all 1500 of my CDs through yet, but I've thrown most of the obscure ones at it and it's done ok.

    Thanks CliveD, "CD Trustee" is pretty good and I think I'll stick with it. I like the way you can batch register CDs. Great.

    For anyone who's interested, I also tried "Music Collector" from Collectorz.com but "CD Trustee" just edges it.
