If you've just downloaded DVD Profiler and have a large collection to enter then this barcode reader is a real bonus and with Windows XP is plug and play and works superbly well!!

Certainly does. I catalogued my 500+ DVDs using mine. Only small issue is if it finds several matching titles you have to revert back to the keyboard to select the correct one. This, however, is a 'feature' of DVD Profiler not the scanner (unless I am missing an option to auto select a region or something).

Fantastic item the Cuecat and so bloomin' cheap.

Nice! I copy 'n' paste almost all my UPCs at the time I place the order though, because the retailers I use display the UPC as part of the DVD details. So when the disk arrives, I just move it to the 'Owned' section. Kinda makes the barcode reader redundant in my case :)

    same here.

BTW best way to find UPC:

    UKR2
    www.mvc.co.uk

    R1Can

    www.futureent.com

    R1US

    www.dvdplanet.com

But still if you only start using DVDprofielr after you have 500DVDs (or lost the backup) then barcode reader is great.

PS you probably know this but for the others who don't:

for R1 UPC drop the first andthe last digit. for UKR2 drop the first only when putting into profiler;)

    DVDempire's scans are cool though.

No, home PC - I added it myself as I wanted nothing more to do with them. But that's another story, already covered on another thread long ago ;)
