Is it just me or are DVD's getting more expensive ? R1 releases are averaging near the 17 quid mark. Fair enough if it's a 2 disc release and full of extras, but some are single disc with minimal bonus material. Do you think we are being ripped off ?

dvdsoon still seem to be quite cheap on the new R1 releases

it is only realistic to pay more for new R1 discs. Unless it is something you are desperate for wait for a R2 sale. It seems to me R2 releases go on sale after a few months since release now

R1 new releases: £10-12 from dvdsoon.
R2 less than £7.99 (provided you wait 2-3 months after release).
Never had it so cheap imo.

The $$ is now around $1.7 to the £sterling, which means they should be getting cheaper, not more expensive. They are costing more and I think it's a rip-off for a product that costs around £1.00 to produce.

Whilst I agree that CD and DVD prices are too high, when you say 'costs around £1.00 to produce' you must not forget that that is the actual manufacturing cost. There are many other costs and royalties which must also be factored in so the 'actual' cost is a lot more than £1.00.

    Devil's Advocate :)

You know what bugs me...shops here in the UK (no names being mentioned) are doing the "buy one get one free" but they price the DVDs at £19.99....I mean no DVDs not even new ones (unless packed with extras) are priced at that anymore....

I know this is an old topix probably touched many a time before...but still bugs me

    BUT HEY its Christmas...so i'm :D
