Are there any DVD players available in the UK that are progressive scan and offer VGA output?

I've seen reviews of the Chinese Nintaus player (with the sage de-interlacer) but as far as I know it's only available direct from Korea.

Is a UK version of the Nintaus player going to be available?

I have found a site in Denmark which sells this DVD player. It costs 2395 Danish Kroner which is approximately £199.

You can find it at http://www.metroshop.dk

Unfortunately is the site in danish only  but since I'm swedish I have no problem in understanding it :D

    Rad,

My current DVD player doesn't have progressive scan so I would be looking to upgrade the player anyway.

    Hi,

Like the Nintaus, the Skyworth (import from Hong Kong) has a vga output.
A number of people in the UK have Skyworths so you can be reasonably confident about importing one.

I bought a Sumvision DVD player from Ebuyer about a year ago with VGA output. It cost about 12.50 believe it or not. Not suprisingly it broke down recently. Its not a very serious problem though, something power related. This particular DVD player doesn't seem to be available any more. I wonder why ?

    Hi,

You'll notice that the previous posts are all from 2002 so things have moved on a bit from that time. DVD players with vga outputs have been replaced with upscaling players that output via HDMI.

I replaced my de-interlacing Skyworth (still got it) with an upscaling Momitsu V880 (still got that as well). The Momitsu has some reliability issues (I'm on my second) but I think it's still a pretty good option as a dvd player.
