    hi,
which is better and why.... a great DVD player or state of the art upgradable HTPC/media centre PC for watching DVD movies in my hometheatre system with a large screen DLP projector and a great 5.1 surround sound system with amplifier and the works.
    Please help decide.

You've got to give some sort of budget idea :) .. a Denon XV1A (or whatever the thing is with built in HQV scaling) will probably beat an HTPC, certainly a Pioneer 8686 plus Lumagen HDP scaler running 720p into an H77 on to 92" screen certainly beats one IMX.
