If you do a search there's a thread about it from fairly recently, basically there's the KiSS DV-500 or an X-Box plus there's numerous unheard of brand named ones. Most aren't very good with DivX 3.11 or anything with a hi-bitrate, the X-Box seems to be fine with everything once you install a mod chip and put Xbox Media Player on it !

I have a KiSS-450 ... as pinkprobegt says, it's not great with 3.11 files ... it supposedly does PAL progressive but I've not had a chance to try it. As a straight DVD player it's fine from my experience, XVid and DivX >=4 seem okay most of the time.

If you want to read up others' experiences you may want to visit their forums . KiSS release firmware updates and there's a hack to provide multi-region running.

I think though that an HTPC is probably a better idea if you plan on doing a lot of DivX viewing, and of course an HTPC has other benefits .. ripping DVs and playing off hard disk for example. :)

There are others around but I have never researched them. The KiSS uses the "Sigma" chip to do the DivX bit, others use different chips and may provide better DivX support .. some on the KiSS forums discuss other brands.

The Philips DVD737 will be able to play Divx (3.11, 4 and 5), XVid and all other MPEG-4 like files.

I have just ordered this device, so I am not yet able to say if it does play anything. Apparently it does, although some models seem to have problems playing dvd's ...

in most countries it is allready available in stores...
