Hello, not sure if this is the correct forum, have searched the site cannot find any similar posts though. I recently purchased a Philips DVP520 DVD player and connected it to my TV via SCART lead. However I have noticed that this has altered the display of Teletext on my TV. Teletext is now displayed significantly dimmer. This also goes for the OSD menus on the TV.

When I remove the SCART lead Teletext goes back to its full glory. Anyone know what causes this and if I can do anything about it. I obviously don't want to be removing the SCART everytime I look at Teletext...

    Cheers

I've can get this effect on my tv when using my import games console with RGB hardwired.
Try using another scart cable does it still happen ?
Does it happen even when the dvd player is in standby mode ?
When its power is off ?

Tried it with two SCART leads, happens with both of them. Strange thing is if I unplug the DVD player but leave the SCART connected it still happens.

If I use the composite OUT on the DVD player, but use SCART in in the TV it doesn't happen. I used to have an X-Box conencted and it never happenned. Perhaps its just the TV. Is there any real disadvantages in using Composite->SCART?
