Hi, ive got £250-£350 (maybe a bit more if its really worth it) to spend on a new dvd player and im totally confused as to which ones to shortlist.
It must have an optical output, and be multi region (or able to be modified) I dont want lots of features on the player like bookmarks, just the basics will do. Id rather cut out all the bells and whistles and go for a player with superior picture and sound quality. It must also have good CD playback as i will be using it as a CD player aswell.

Id be gratefull for all your advice and recommendation, Jon.

I have a Hitachi 505 and it gives good all round performance.

If you are not really interested in macrovision disable you could get it from Dixons for 270 on a years interest free, then download the multiregion firmware from my site.

you can pick one up multiregion & macrovision disabled for 300.

    It also plays MP3's
