I have my old tosh 210E upstairs.

Recently the display has stopped working and to hear a dvd you have to turn the volume to maximum, even then it is difficult to hear.

    Any ideas?

Is it worth trying to fix the problem, or would a cheapo multiregion be a better option?

    Hi Bobbles,

Quite a few people have been having a problem with this model - the sound problem is well documented.

Have a look at "No (analogue) sound from a Toshiba 210" for example:

The general concensus is that you'll need to take it into a service centre to be repaired - and it probably won't be worth it. I have my 210E upstairs as well and am just waiting for it to 'die' on me.
