dvd player into home cinema

hi, i have a samsung dvd recorder. i wish to adapt it to create dolby pro logic sound. the player has certain connections ie dolby out etc. i want to use a creative inspire 5.1 speaker system (1 sub and 5 speakers) this i use on my pc. is this possible ?
