    Hi,

I have a panasonic dvd player which is connected to an LCD screen with Infrared head phones.

I also have a play station psone connected, and a switch on the dash that is supposed to switch the DVD player sound to in car speakers.

The headphones sound work fine however i am not able to hear the sound using the car speakers as it supposed to work when i press that switch.

The switch appear to have a green LED that is lit when I press, if then press again it flashes and a further press will switch it off.

I am not sure how this is supposed to work.

    Any helpfull tips are appreciated.

    Thanks a lot.

    Regards

    Charbel

Depending on what car its fitted to (BMW maybe ???) then it may just be to turn on an FM modulator, try turning it on and scanning through on the radio to see if you can find the audio.

    Thanks.

    It is a VW Sharan.

Thought about this, and tried a quick scan, but i must admit i was not thorough.

The actual switch has 3 wires out red and black and the LED too so in total six wires comming out of the switch...

    Just a quick update.

I pulled the switch out and it has in total 4 wires.

1 X red and 1 X black connecting to LED.

1 X yellow and 1 X black connecting to actual push switch.

    thanks

What you have then is a Soundlinx audio interface lead, I would guess you also have a cd changer fitted, if not then one type of LED flash will give you no sound (probably LED off) and the other two will be for the two other sources, Try selecting cd chander mode on the head unit, play the dvd/ps2 and push the button to see what you get.

more info here and search for Auxiliary Audio Interface -- VWSharan -- VW and pick what head unit you have

    Just an update

    it is working fine now.

You were quiet right , It was the CD I had to switch the Radio to CD, and although i had done this before, I had no Cd's in the changer so it was switching back to radio, so today i put some CD's and it works flawlessly..

Thanks a lot for your help.

By the way I saw a car electrician and he told me he wanted £40 + vat to check it... I cant beleive that audio repair specialist wouldnt know about this.

Besides I paid him £200, to repair my side lights which turned out to be some loose fuses or connectors in the multifunction box. Those guys are a cheat.

    Thanks a million
