Been away from the forums for a while so please , be gentle ! :hiya:

I have a sony dvd player - works great on dvds & vcds

    Q) Can anyone recommend a player that can cope with AVIs , MPEGs from
my PC - i think some will be Div X - it would save a lot of work encoding
and messing converting them to dvd format and picture loss etc.

I've heard an xbox (i'm no gamer) can do some of this but really
want just a normal player type

Only other thing is - i have ears like a bat so must be quiet in normal play

a bit of seek noise finding a track is ok

    many thanks

I bought a DK Divx DVD Player from www.svp.co.uk back in March, it has played everything I have thrown at it so far and is very quiet so you might want to check it out.

My H&B DX-3220 DVD/DivX player from www.digital-point.co.uk is excellent.

I don't know what i would do with out it!

Mine comes with progressive scan, 2 free scart leads, composite leeds and a VGA cable so you can connect to your PC if you wish.

It is also fully "DivX certified".

Everything ive thrown at it works to perfection and has a DVD player the quality is superb too, imo.

My first DVD Player was a Sony DVDPNS330 but my DX-3220 easily beats that.

The one thing that impressed me the most about this machine though was the sound.

For the price you can't beat it imo.

It's also a very quiet machine and i can't hear a thing when watching a movie, even at very low volume levels.

No need to worry about irratating sounds with this machine!
