DVD player Advice

Hi my current 36inch CRT TV is gone and I am thinking about getting a 42inch Samsung PS42Q7 plasma TV with a Samsung HD860 DVD player. I am thinking of hooking the DVD up via component cable.

Do you guys/gals think this is a good combination and will I notice an improvment in quality from a old Toshiba dvd player if I upscale using component?
Also is my choice of TV good as I want the best TV possible for around £1300, Im getting the sammy for £1200 and I dont want to spend more then £80 on the dvd player?

Just bought that plasma, and I'm very happy with it connected to my Samsung HD950 via HDMI

BTW I purchased the TV from here for approx £1160 delivered, superb service ;)

Ok But I am still wondering If I would see a major pq imporivement with upscaling via component instead if hdmi?
