DVD playback problem in mce2005

    After a format of my pc i cant play dvd's ive downloaded sonic cineplayer/plug ins and i get this message when tryin to play dvds

    Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because a problem occurred while configuring copyright protection.

    any ideas?

    I take it you never had the problem prior?

    If not, then the follwoing is only a stop gap solution but a little app called AnyDVD nullifies region coding and protections.

    did you ever get this resolved? I'm using a HTPC connected via component to my plasma set at 720 HDTV... any help in getting DVD's playing exceedingly grateful!
