    Hello.

I have what seems to be a quite annoying problem with my PWD6, the picture quality when watching DVD's is sometimes worse than when I view sky digital?

The DVD I have is a Yamaha DVD S-540 which is connected via component.
I have tried viewing DVD's in Progressive and in interlaced mode and have not seen much of a difference really. Wound the DVD I have, have better de-interlacing capabilities than the PWD6.

The sky digital box is connected via a RGB to VGA converter and looks really good on decent broadcasts.

Please help, this is really bugging me.

    Thanks
    DAV.

I assume we're talking proper retail quality DVD's too and not cheap rip offs (VCD quality etc)?

The DVD is connected via Component on the TY-42TM6YB board and the SKY is connected via a Lectropacs RGB to VGA converter. (I will buy a JS version but I need to do a back to back comparison, bought it after being recommended by a super-fi sales man)

The cables are Unknown type and I am having to use BNC to Phono converters on the DVD end. I know I should have known better about the cable and it is only a temp fix, but I thought the picture would better than it currently is.

I will be buying a cable from Mark Grant, soon.

I don’t like to watch rip off’s because that what they are.

The PW6 seems to be endlessly tweekable.

hmm i think that if sky looks better than DVD there may be a cable or DVD player issue....Never used a yamaha DVD 540 in anger with a PW6 mate..... But better cables can do no harm...to PQ!
