Any suggestions of dvd programs to download for watching my dvds on my laptop. (pref. freeware if that exists)
I have now the compaq dvd player but a lot of dvds just don't work.
    Thank you very much!

you can download a programme that makes your dvd player on your pc region free if thats any help.

I don't know about freeware dvd decoders, but try the cyberlink powerdvd programme, definately the best out there. And if you get an old one you can get it cheap if you buy / download online

Can you offer a link? Is it safe/reliable? I have a Sony VAIO which I have never been able to convert.

    Thanks for your replies.
The problems are that some dvds stop in the middle for no reason or don't even start. with other dvds there is no problem at all?!?
I use compaq dvd that came with my compaq laptop.
    Thank you!

    I'm moving this to HCPC.

You may have more luck getting an answer to your question there :)

Region Killer here and DVDRegion Free here both allow you watch any region DVD without changing the Region of your DVDROM, with regards to playback stopping can you supply more info on specification configuration and the setup of the DVD player you are using.

Games Guru, BTW isn't "Powerdvd is definately the best out there" a bit of a sweeping statement, most hardcore HTPC fanatics swear by Theatertek or Zoom, and before anyone pulls me up on tha last statement, I did say most :p
