Can Pirate Dvd Mangle My Tv Picture

At xmas a friend of mine brought some DVD's back from china, most I had seen so no bother there, but when I tried a Harry P the DVD changed the writing in the setup menu on my telly, made it look a bit like ITALIC!! I am convinced my picture is worse since I played that DVD even if it was only for about 3 mins as the lip sync was atrocious.

I reset the telly to factory but to no avail. To my eyes the picture now lacks vibrancy and when I switch from AV to coax there is a flleeting glimpse of what the picture used to be ie nice colours and defenition.

Is it feasible that a duff DVD can mangle a telly and is there a fix, apart from getting a new TV??

    thanks.

It's impossible for a dodgy DVD to damage your TV...

I guess it's theoretically possible if your DVD player is integrated into the TV and the manufacturer has integrated the software. This however is very unlikely.
