Was just wandering which UK magazine people rate for news/reviews/info on DVD's etc.
I buy the movie I want to watch, it's not as though a studio releases one good one and one bad one. Ah you say, what about R1 vs R2? Mags used to compare the 2 on occasion, but I've not seen them recently.
Print is also hampered by being sometimes months behind, often I will have the disc in my hand before a review appears. Same with new release info, much as I hate to admit it the internet does this rather better.
Wasnt so much for film reviews as I tend to buy Empire for that (on the occasions that I still buy it).
Was looking more for a mag that had info on release dates, product details etc.
Perhaps its better sticking to using the web but there is just something so much nicer about a magazine.
DVD monthly is quite good, good review's, free preview VCD every month, quite good hardware reviews, and nice price £3.99.
Alternitivley (don't think I spelt that right) the webn is always a good source.
Oh and......Total DVD of course
I don't see the point of so many DVD Mags, ok have just one or two...but there are loads on the market.
I doubt they sell very well either. The only DVD Review mags i've ever bought are when they had DVD Demo discs on the front.
I always buy "DVD Review" simply because I enjoy the quality reviews of Region 1 titles, and news. Sorry, but in my opinion, the rest of the DVD mags are pretty p***-poor in comparison.
Why offer a free VCD on a DVD mag for god's sake? That's like offering a free audio cassette on a CD reviewing mag!
Also, it's kinda difficult to take a desktop PC to the bog, to read about stuff!
another person that magazines in the bathroom!!
Get a lap top. That's why they were invented.
Never heard of a Camode?
No,but i have heard of a commode.
I used to buy DVD Review and Total DVD and maybe another random one that caught my eye until i counted up how much i was spending on them,so i stopped buying any and bought an extra DVD in their place.
Hell, just go to WHSmith and read them. You don't need to pay for them then...
But they kick me out when I try and sit upon my 'cammode' in the magazine aisle....
