As I have now jumped headlong into the AV world and got my kit set up, I really should start building a DVD collection and perhaps introducing some variety into my Audio collection too. Obviously, I'm not lookimg for 'title' recommendations, otherwise we could be here all year.....

Can anyone recommend a good online place to get cheap DVD's from?

As my DVD player will support DVD-A & SACD can anyone advise what I should look for as the distinguishing mark to recognise these types of disc?

Finally any DVD buying tips / trade secerets. I'm loathed to pay big bucks in the high street stores. If I have to my DVD collection shall remain a pond and not the ocean I would like.

    Ooohhhhhhhhhh huge possible responses........

Ok......... For DVD movies I tend to flit between Movietyme, CD-Wow, Axel Music and DVD Soon. I used to use Play but find they've gotten a little too pricey compared to the others.

Axel Music have a huge amount of DVD-A and SACD apparently - or you can search for SACD on Amazon.co.uk which usually brings up hybrid disks.

Play and CD-Wow do have DVD-A/SACD - with CD-Wow you have to search a la amazon to find them and they have only a few titles.

DVDPlanet also have some DVD-A disks and have some odd ones I've not seen anywhere else (Metallica - Black album & Britney Spears - Into The Zone) for example.

OK - that's just a few pointers - I'm sure others have their own favourites also :)

CD wow - overall the best online retailer with excellent customer service and quick delivery - selling regions 1, 2, 3 and 4 DVDs

Play.com - good for region 2 DVDs and a quality service,

DVD.co.uk - good and quick service for region 2 DVDs,

Choices - good service for region 2 DVDs,

DVD soon - great for cheap region 1 DVDs, although it can take a while to receive catalogue DVDs so as long as you don't want the DVD any time soon they are good. Pre-orders usually arrive reasonably quick.

.... It's probably worth adding that price comparison Websites are an invaluable tool for finding bargains. I think there's a sticky page in this dvd talk forum with various price comparison websites on ?
