I'm having problems with my old dvd player jumping when playing dvds recorded on another machine & am wondering whether using a dvd lens cleaner would be a good idea. Are these products any good & if so, which one would people recommend I use?

I think, as a general rule, the bristle based one are a no no. The bristles can come off and cause further problems for your machine.

If your out of warranty, or just don't care, you could take the top of and clean it yourself.

Get hold of some Iso Propyl alcohol from a local chemist. Dab a cotton bud in it and clean the lens.

Job is a good 'un!
