The manufacturer's 3-year warranty is certainly worth highlighting.

certainly looks like a good deal although impossible to tell what the build quality is like sat here!
I would probably only ever buy such a unit purely as a secondary device and never as my main unit as I can't see the customer service from a fruit and veg shop to be on a par as say John Lewis!

Get yourself over to Richer Sounds where you can get a Pioneer DVR420 or Panasonic DMRE85 for £299. Why you would want a Targa over Pioneer or Panasonic is beyond me.

Just playing with my birthday Panny 95
Seems to have all the works plus price keeps falling £340 odd now
why not stick with a big name ??
    3 yrs guarantee looks great
but in three years what price new DVD recorders
remember when DVD players were £600
    now £19.99 or less

I really wouldn't jump to conclusions about the Targa name. Last week I bought a 250Gb hard drive from Lidl for £90. It is Ultra ATA/133, 7,200rpm with a 16Mb cache memory. It has a three year guarantee. Oh, I forgot to mention, the hard drive is a Maxtor.... :rotfl:
