I have the 17" C2D Macbook Pro running WinXP Home under bootcamp.
Recently bought an MS XBox 360 HD-DVD drive and using PowerDVD Ultra I am enjoying watching HD movies.
Does anyone know of any software that will enable me to use the HD-DVD on the mac OS X?

VLC should work perfectly with the 360 drive. Just plug in the drive in the USB port and fire up VLC. No drivers needed!

That sounds ideal for when I move my mini into my lounge for HTPC duty, never thought of using the 360 add-on.

One question, however, how is the sound output? Does it come through the Macs mini-optical port or does the 360 output the sound directly to your amp?

The audio came across the usb2 connection from the add-on and then was sent via optical from the xbox360 ... guess vlc will decode the audio as well as the hd-video and route it out the same as any video file it is playing ...

Thanks...but that driver is for XP only...I had to download and install it a few days ago so XP would see the drive.

I read that but I'm of the opinion it does and isn't.

How are you hooking up the drive?

Are you using it inside OS X or XP?

    USB of course.

I have it working under XP with PowerDVD Ultra.
I'd like to get it working under OS X
I can see the drive in the system profiler...under
    USB High speed bus,
    HUB
    XBOX 360 HD DVD Player.
I don't see it...and cannot browse to it within VLC Player.
    Should VLC Player detect it?
Is anyone using the XBox 260 HD-DVD drive under OS X?
