I'm backing up some kids film on my little sisters pc so she can watch them w/o using the original dvd. Anyway i followed the guide and backed up the dvd in IFO mode....ran it through IFO EDit. However when i play it through Powerdvd the film stops after a certain amount of chapters! and you can't select further chapters...also sometimes the subtitles come out grabbled.

Am i missing something in the decrypter settings? i first done this using the settings so that i only got one vob file...then i changed it so that it would split files to different vobid's eitherway i had the same problem.

    Any hints??

I understand you can use ISO mode but that involves using a virtual drive which seems a bit long winded...would rather click a ifo file and start the movie only....thxs guys:confused:

Have a look at the backup guide in the DVD section of the forums....that should help.

I know exactly what you mean....neither of those programs are exactly user friendly!

I have no idea if this is related but PowerDVD is limited to playing 2GB files. Depending on how you back up your DVD you can specify either merging to one file or multiple files. Make sure it is on multiple files.

I'd use Iso mode and daemon tools. it negates the need to run IFO edit, and plays normally I find its a lot easier

Try using smartripper instead, select backup mode so you can rip the whols DVD to a selected folder.

The method I used is to use ISO mode and then use Daemon tools to mount the ISO image as a virtual drive. Then you can use any player you like to play it. Much easier.
