    Just a thought...

If I've configured my speaker set up (size/distance) via the amp, is it necessary to apply that again on the DVD player's set up?

Would that causes a double/duplicate config?

    Cheers!

If you're using a digital out to an AV amp I would leave the settings as they are. Using the digital output probably means these settings aren't having an effect anyway.

The speaker distance settings etc on the dvd player are only applicable if your using the 5.1 analogue outputs on the DVD player (i.e. the dvd player is doing the surround sound decoding) if however your using the digital audio connections from the player to the amp then the Amp will be doing the decoding so the settings on the dvd player will no longer apply
