DVD burner Firmware Update

    Hi could someplease put me right on some questions on updating the DVD burner Fireware
    1 is it really important to keep updated
    2 If I found a good source of DVD disc why would I need to update
    3 If I have to update is it easy to do
    4 If I update, will the DVD discs that I already have still burn and play

    Thank you for any help and info

    1. Might be...
    2. ...if you wanted to burn higher speed discs.
    3. Yes, especially the official manufacturer's updates.
    4. You might even find they burn at a higher speed.

    Do you have a particular firmware in mind?

    Thanks for replying but I have the PANASONIC 310 record speed is only 1x
    it is DVD-R/ DVD-RAM burner have not quite mastered the RAM BIT it yet so at the moment the speed issue does not concern me
    If I was to buy another PC burner DVD-R what would you suggest
    Any other advice . Thank you

    Pioneer DVR-109 would be an excellent choice for 16x burning. SVP Communications are doing internal ones for £39.99 or external for £49.98. Cracking drives at a cracking price :smashin:
