    hi all,

just got a package from DVD BO which arrived impressively quickly (via Belgium it seems). sadly they have sent me the New Version of Cinema Paradiso (which i am sure is very good) instead of the City of Lost Children on back order :nono:

has anyone received my DVD from them by mistake in which case can we arrange an exchange? alternatively has anyone else had dealings with returns/exchanges from DVD BO and is there much hope of getting this situation resolved successfully?

    Dan

I've had to do disc exchanges with them before once or twice - got resolved without problems. Send them an email

"has anyone received my DVD by mistake?"
    Talk about clutching at straws:D

yeah, well, stranger things have happened :p obviously i also e-mailed DVD BO about it but i expect they will be slow replying and doing anything about it. also the DVD was on back-order so there's no telling when they are likely to get another copy in. finally, since it (and Cinema Paradiso) are relatively eclectic films i was thinking that if it has gone to the wrong person then the chances are that that person may well be a member of the av or dvd forums or both. they would probably also realise however that it's a pretty difficult DVD to come by so on the off hand that they did see my message they might well choose not to reply!

glad i was able to provide some amusement to otherwise seemingly humour-starved individuals

The only problem I have had with DVDBO is that they once charged my card twice for the same order, and wouldn't refund my card without me faxing copies of my statements to them. Surely they must have had the transactions on their records somewhere?? Anyway, the issue was resolved quickly once the procedure had been completed, and they refunded my card without further delay.

I don't think you'll have any trouble - their Customer Services seems quite good.

Never had any problems with DVDBO - had a damaged disk exchanged within 10 days, and a broken case replaced within 5!

Very good service as far as I'm concerned.:smashin:

Out of interest did you get a reply as to what happened to your dvd?
What region/version did you order and is it any different to the region 2 version if it wasn't the r2 you ordered?

well they finally replied and have asked me to mail it back to them in Canada (even though it got sent on from Belgium) by Ground Post which they think would cost less than 4 Canadian Dollars... i get the impression they think i am in Canada or the States so e-mailed to query this fact and return issues.

for anyone else who has returned an item to them before did you have to send it all the way to Canada and what kind of cost was the postage for you? presumably DVD BO will refund the postage costs when they handle the exchange?

however they made no mention of what happened to my City of Lost Children DVD (R1, much better than other versions apart from the French R2 but that typically has no English sub-titles).
