    Hello !

I've got a DVD player that supports all kinds of DVDs, but when I last tried to backup one of my DVDs, it would only play in XBox and PC, not in my standalone DVD player. Well actually, I've got sound and subtitles and video, but it always shows one second of a chapter and then skips to the next. Kind of a lousy backup...

What can I do to resolve this problem? Should I use other burning software? Maybe I should destroy my player with a sledgehammer? Or try burning at lower speed? (which is an option that isn't included in DVD x copy express)

It is most likely to be the media. Certain players only like certain types of media. Try changing the media or your DVD player. Providing your DVD player supports playback of DVD-R or DVD+R (whichever you are using) then you should find one that will work.

Try blanks using the Ritek G04 dye which are probably about the most widely accepted.

Is it a VCD or SVCD, I took an SVCD round to a friends and noticed this problem but the disc works fine on my DVD player.

    It's a DVD ;)

I use DVD+R media and tried Maxell and Memorex.

U have found the answer :) Its software related and even a earlier version of dvd2one will give the same results as you encountered earlier.

For some reason back ups do this on all sony machines when using older versions of software.

All new versions of dvd2one,shrink etc are reported to work fine :)
