DVD and 5.1/DTS

    Forgive me for being a newbie to the world of dvd players. I'm thinking of ditching my trusty PS2 as a DVD player, let's face it, it's crap and always was!

    I'm thinking about buying a Pioneer DV454 but i'm a little confused as to what equipment i need to get Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS. Do i need an extra receiver or will a decoder built in to a home theatre speaker system work? I'm really confused.. please help.

    If you already have a "home theatre system" with built in decoders for DD and DTS that's all you need. Connect the DVD player to the amp with either a digital co-axial or optical cable.

    What type of home theatre system do you have ?
