Right, I'm lucky in that John Lewis have just replaced my TV with a shinny new Toshiba 36" that has progressive scan component inputs I currently have a Pioneer 757AI, but it only does NTSC progressive - needs to be sent away to do PAL Prog and I need to pay for the upgrade. The component is a big step up from RGB, so I'm definitely going to be using that input. I ONLY use the player for DVD playback (component and Digital DTS/DD output to my AV8 processor) - no CD or analogue audio outputs are used at all and I never use the DVDA/SACD on the pioneer, so losing that doesn't bother me. Now, I could upgrade the pioneer, or I could sell it as I've got the chance to buy either a DV89 or a DV78 for a good price (the same for both) and I've no idea which would be best. I've got the DV78 and had a quick play last night but wonder if I've made the right choice as the DV89 is FMJ range, but the 78 is apparently newer video chipset. Add to all that the cracking review I've just read of the DV79 and I've no idea what to do for the best. Suggestions of which is the better option (from those who have compared them) or even what to look/listen for would be appreciated. My wife's away this weekend, so I've time to experiment a bit Thanks.
