    does Diva DV89 support( + or-) double layer dvd.

    AFAIK there are not many (if any) DVD players that fully support duel layer recordable DVD's ATM. The problem is not so much to do with the disks, but more to do with the software that is avalable to create them. Only time will improve this situation, but with the cost of the disks still far too high and the software not being that good I would stick to single layer disks for the moment.
