When I purchased my DV88, I found out the next day that the DV88+ was due to be released. I E-mailed Arcam about this and asked if they would consider swapping my player for a new one.
I was informed that it would be several months before this player would be released and that no swap would be possible.
I spoke to my dealer about the matter and they were willing to give me a credit note for the full value of the player until the new one was available.
Going on Arcam's word that the player would not be available for several months, I declined the offer.
My concern is not the player itself, which I have found to be superb, rather the fact that the outgoing model will probably now be available for £500 in Richer Sounds.
I wonder if they might reconsider now, as the information they gave me about the release date turned out to be untrue (or at least misleading).
I am a very satisfied Arcam customer and have owned 3 of their products to date. I hope you can appreciate my problem; If the player had cost £200 then fine, but this purchase represents over a months wages for me and I want the best possible model for my hard earned.
Thanks, and sorry if I've nicked the thread,
Richard.
