Just asking as I am holding off from demoing new equipent till it is released.
They are already with certain dealers.
Any idea of price ?
Same as outgoing model, £1000 RRP.
About 60 UK dealers now have these. Let us know where you live Raven, or anyone else interested, and we'll advise of the nearest dealer(s) to you. Probably best to phone customer service on 01223 203203 during normal office hours.
We'll also be showing it off at the Manchester show this weekend I believe.
Recommended retail is £999.90 inc VAT.

Based in deepest darkest East Angular (near Tunisia!) in Ipswich. My local Sevenoaks does carry Arcam and he was hoping to have the player pretty soon when I last spoke to him which was a couple of weeks ago.
Raven - you have a PM!

When I purchased my DV88, I found out the next day that the DV88+ was due to be released. I E-mailed Arcam about this and asked if they would consider swapping my player for a new one.
I was informed that it would be several months before this player would be released and that no swap would be possible.
I spoke to my dealer about the matter and they were willing to give me a credit note for the full value of the player until the new one was available.
Going on Arcam's word that the player would not be available for several months, I declined the offer.
My concern is not the player itself, which I have found to be superb, rather the fact that the outgoing model will probably now be available for £500 in Richer Sounds.
I wonder if they might reconsider now, as the information they gave me about the release date turned out to be untrue (or at least misleading).
I am a very satisfied Arcam customer and have owned 3 of their products to date. I hope you can appreciate my problem; If the player had cost £200 then fine, but this purchase represents over a months wages for me and I want the best possible model for my hard earned.
Thanks, and sorry if I've nicked the thread,
***Just re-read this and it seems I'm having a bit of a rant - sorry - please delete if you feel this is inappropriate.***
Will you also be able to buy them in Manchester, and will there be any deals on them?
I have *nearly* £1000 on my credit card itching to be spent.
Why not chat to our staff, Stefan and Peter, in Manchester at the show?
Deals are the resonsibility of the dealer, not Arcam itself. I can't really comment but I would not be surprised to see that the show organiser, Practical Hi-Fi, had some kind of arrangements to tempt you. They have sales desks on every floor I believe.
We have the units available in the factory right now so delivery to the store of your choice is not going to be a problem.

Thanks for the info John
Hmm... will the £1000 include the PS-card? You had to buy the PS card (then NTSC only) separately for the old DV88. That card did cost as much as a Philips DVD-963.
Just a thought.
no, the plus comes with Ps on board (or if not with the addon board already in)
The only thing thats not there yet is the additioanl audio board.
My local dealer kindly emailed me the PDF for it - very nice
Any news ?
I am Richard??? Where did I post that?
No. I did think that JD might have replied to my comments but I guess he doesn't want to get involved.
I must point out that I'm really happy with the player - it is truely excellent. However, the news about the DV88+ came out literally the day after I purchased my DV88. I did not take back the player as I was informed by Arcam that the new model was "Several Months" away from dealerships.
I could have taken it back and the dealer was happy for me to do so.
I'm just cross as this is such a huge outlay for me. £1000 is way over a months wages for me and I understandably want the best for my money. When I see it in Richer Sounds for £500 I will be seeing red.
I noticed Mr Dawson replied on this thread and was curious.
Guessed he PM 'd you as your post was skipped, obviously the outcome is none of my business.
If it's any help I can back you up with regard to your claim as regards timing your purchase, I remember posting a reply to your question and reading within a day or so that you had bought the Diva and spotted the PP news.
Yes, I was hoping for a response and I for one would be pleased to let you know what happens, if anything.
I don't think Arcam will do anything about but I'm still a happy(ish) customer. I have owned several of their products over the last year and this problem is just down to bad timing. I just wish they hadn't said it would be months away, and then put it in dealerships within the month.
I am currently saving (and selling) like crazy in order to buy an AV processor and Amp and I hope this wont dismiss the AV8 before I even get to audition it. (Well, I have heard it against a Tag AV32 actually and I would like to buy one of the two)
i purchased a dv88 plus from my local sevenoaks dealer ex display for a sum of £700.
they had had it on display for a whole 3 weeks before selling it off.
i didnt really want the plus as i dont need pscan (scaler owner) but i am well pleased with it in every way
